If you’re stuck or doubtful about your writing or just not sure if it’s ready to send out into the world yet, having a fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference. I offer developmental editing for fiction and creative non-fiction, helping writers get clear on the central idea of their work, how it’s executed and how to make it stronger.
My editing experience covers flash fiction, short story, novels and synopses, memoir and drama scripts. If you’d like to talk about your work, get in touch by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All submissions receive a written report that outlines what’s working well and the priority areas to focus on in the next draft.
My reports are built from thorough analysis of the text and you’ll also received an annotated copy of your work with notes and prompts to consider.
For longer works I like to begin with a briefing call to understand what you need from the editing process. For all editing projects, I arrange a follow-up phone or video chat to discuss the feedback and help resolve any questions you might have.
Prices are based on wordcount. Some discounted and free edits are available to writers from under-represented groups. Please contact me for further details.
All work is reviewed in Microsoft Word using Track Changes. If that’s an issue, let me know if there’s a way to make things more accessible for you.
